We developed a db to support some data entry work and reporting. The work is done in US, Europe, & Asia. When we rolled out the db, it worked fine in the US, but Asia & Europe took an hour to open the db and 20 min to go through the data entry process, which should take 2-3 minutes.
When we approach our IT group for support, they advised...
"unfortunately Access is not a "tool" that lends itself to usage across the WAN. There is no "quick fix" to enabling the Access database you have created to work effectively globally."
Any thoughts on ways around this issue. Is it true that a central MS Access db cannot be accessed remotely ? What's the best way to allow remote locations to work in the db without delays ? Of course, it must be secure.
Appreciate any help.
