Turn auto number off

P: 2
I have a form which allocates an "auto number" to each new record. I would like to know how I can enter the form and browse through old/existing records without having to press escape to bypass the new form with auto number (and lose that number which leaves me with disjointed numbering) every time I open the form? Do I need to make a new query which only shows old/existing records?

There's a Form property called AllowAdditions. Set this to false and it won't go to new records.
