Making an ORDER_NUMBER field increment from 550000

So far I have tried this in the Form Control Source An other ideas I am
not sure I have typed it right?

Dim lngID As Long
If Jobs.NewRecord Then
lngID = Nz(DMax("JOB NUMBER", "Jobs"), 0)
IflngID <0 then
'you have some job records
lngID = lngID + 1
Else
lngID = 550000
End If
Jobs.JOB Number = lngID
End If

End Sub
