Access Password Login

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to set up a screen. I have all of the account information entered into the database, but am not certain on how I am to insert it into a switchboard/form. Is their a module that someone has handy?

Thank you

You have (accidentally) posted this question in the Access Articles section. This is NOT an article.
I'm moving this to the main Access questions forum.

It's not very clear what you're after, but if I'm close to understanding you, the Form Wizard will help you produce what you're after. If I'm off the mark then you may have to clarify the question somewhat.

Are you looking to build a form to display information?

Try this here if that is the case.

What I am looking for is how to create a passworded account so the user may log in and view the database. The database is already constructed, I just require a login screen which I am uncertain on doing so.

Have you considered using Access' built-in security system (Tools \ Security)?

You can do this two ways, one is to password protect the entire database and have a single password to get into it.

Another is to create a security file (Microsoft Access Workgroup file), you can do this using the security wizard. If you are using this approach I strongly recommend that you make a backup of your database first.

Which option would suit you?

In response to "NeoPa"...

I have set up the built in access security accounts, but how do I make it so the user has to log in to view a certain form?

In response to "damonreid"...

Whichever one that allows the user to enter a form and then type in their password to access the form with the database information.

I tend to work with user groups on this one, make a form open button by default invisible but when a particular user group opens that switchboard or main form then set the property of that button to visible = true.

Would that solution work for you?

Perhaps I misinterpreted; I would like for the user to enter a main form with a login screen in which the user MUST enter his/her user name/password or just password and then click the login button before going any further in the database.

____________

User: _________
Pass: _________

Hope this will help for my lack of linguistic skills.

You said earlier that you already use the built-in Access security.
If so, you don't need them to log in again. Simply use the CurrentUser method to return a string of who the current security user is. You can do almost anything with it once you have it. You can check it against a list of allowed users before allowing them to enter a particular program for instance.
