Every time i try to execute a search on a form, i get this error

Run-time error '3349'

Numeric Field overflow.


I have looked it up but all i get is the definition


does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what is causing this error?

And the answer was? When solving a question on your own, you should always post the solution! It adds to the education of everyone here, and may be of help to someone down the line who comes here and uses the Search Feature looking for help. I, for instance, have never run into this particular error before!

In the same vane, if you're given advice here that works for you, you should let us know that, for the same reasons listed above.

Not a problem, i would love to share, sorry i did not think of posting it before.

I have linked tables from Excel. I have a form that allows the users to search the Excel tables and add/edit/delete records. In the header of this form is where the search is done and in the feild where i was getting the error, In Excel its self some of the data was not formated correctly and giving me an error in access when i tried to search for it and when i opened the excel table in access the field in which the data was not formated correctly it appeared like this "!#NUM"

To summerize the data i was trying to search for was not fomatted correctly and access did not recognize it. So i had to reformat the cells in Excel to eliminate the error.
