Linked database question

This is a little difficult to explain so bear with me, and if anyone has any questions i will be happy to clarify for you

I have a database linked into my access database. This linked database is full of "projects" for the whole company. I am pulling only the "projects" that apply to my division.

this linked database is read only and i have a make table query that runs every time the access app is opened. I have a form that allows the users to search this table by a Project Id number.

what i would like to do is when the users are searching this table and come across a new record, i'm wondering if it is possible to do some coding where they can press a button and have the new recorded copied into a different table.

There are 4 tables for the different managers in my division, and id like to have four different buttons so that the record and be placed in the table that corresponds with the manager who’s group is working on the new project.

hope thats not tooooooo confusing lol

It sounds like your table structure is off. All projects should be in one table and managers in another. Then a join table should link managers to projects.
