seemingly easy Report Generation problem

P: n/a
How does one go about formatting reports? I am having trouble
grouping specific items together with each other. I can't get all the
information umbrella'ed under one specific source. I have 2 tables
with a one-to-many (names-to-addresses) relationship...hence object X
can have 1, 2, 3 etc objects under it.

A specific example:

Let's say I have different addresses under 1 specific name and I want
to generate a report. I have a names table and an addresses table. I
want each person's name to be a different page on the report (to where
I can print each name separate from each other). I also want each
address (listed in my address table) to be grouped on the report under
the name it corresponds to.

can i be pointed to walkthroughs on the web about getting objects
placed under their parent object on a report?

Now there is View-->Sorting and Grouping...and it helps...Maybe i'm
not doing the settings right but I can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks in advance for your help everyone!

Hi,
Assuming you have already have setup a relationship between Names and
Addresses and you have that as your source for the report then

in report design mode under View - Sorting and Grouping
add Names in the Field/Expression section and in the lower section
say Yes to Group Header. This will add a Group Heading to the report

In design view of the report add the field 'Names" in the group header
section and the address fields in the detail section then preview it,
this will get you started but is by no means a complete 'help'
discription.

You could also use thge report wizard to do this as well.
hope this help a little
bobh.
