Problems with writing data to 2 table using 1 form

22
I am using Access 2003 and have 2 tables. One has customer information in it (such as name, dates, amount, etc...) and the 2nd table is more of a Comments table (displays username, time and date, and the actual comments) about the customer account. I would like to have one form that gathers all this information; however, I would like it to write the data to 2 different tables. The form I am trying to use is based on the customer information table. I would like to gather 4 additional fields not on the customer table, write them to the comments table, and then initialize these fields. That way when the account is pulled back the comments field will be blank where they can enter a new comment if they would like. I am not sure what the best way is to handle this. I tried a subform but this displays all the comments simultaneously which allows the user to change any of the entries. Can anyone tell me how this would be best set up. I am not sure what coding that I may need, an event, or if this is possible with a subform. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Set up the customers form as the main form and have the comments form as a subform that is linked on the key fields.
