Hi All wonderfull brains!
Right I have two questions after my last very successfull thread. I have tried looking these up on the net, but no luck.
Scenario 1 is : I have a bound form with bound controls. For one of the controls I look up the values from a table, but the values I then sleect from this combo box, is concatednated, ie. Lastname,Firstname,Employee number. Now what I want is that once the user has selected a concatenated name like this and then goes to the following control, when access saves the record when the control loses focus, I want the concatenated name saved deconcatenated into whatever table the data is meant to be saved to. So in other words it is then saved as First name in one table field, last name in seciond table field etc. Now , is this something built into access that can be done without have to sit and handcode it??
Scenario 2 : User enters a record and save it. The user then goes back again later and makes a change to this record, but instead of overwriting the original entry, I want this saved as a amended entry so that I can go back and look at the history of this record. Say for instance a vehicle is allocated to a person for a certain amount of time, then reallocated to someone else later on and then reallocated again even later, I want this as a history, rather than the same record being overwritten. What is the best way to accomplish this?
If I am not allowed to post 2 questions in one thread, then please make me aware and we will only discuss scenario 1 and I will post scenario 2 as a new thread.
Sorry forgot to mention I use Access 2007
Thanks all
