Subforms - populating and updating

10
I hope someone can help me with this.

I have an input form with a subform that opens up in data sheet view. The subform is called based on 2 fields - BusinessName & Commodity - in other words whatever business name and commodity is selected from the drop down on the input form, the corresponding records from the contract table show up in data sheet view. Then I have the ability to select a contract that I want to use from the data sheet by clicking on the + symbol. The contract form opens however if the recordset type on the contract subform is set to Dynaset or Dynaset(inconsistent updates) the contract form is not populated with the information that I can see for the particular contract on the data sheet. If I have the recordset type set to Snapshot, the the contract form populates with the appropriate data however I cannot update the data.

I need the contract subform to populate with all of the data in the selected record, and need the ability to also update the contract when it is selected from the datasheet view of the subform.

Does this make sense?

I wanted to attach a copy of the db to this post but I'm not sure how to.

Thanks,

JMC

See this link for situations where a query is not updateable (click the hyperlink for Data Can Not Be Updated) ....determine which, if any apply to you and see if Microsoft has identified a resolution that you can implement. If you need more help, please get back to us with more details on the specifics of your application (your sql code, etc).
