Import bmp image into jet database

1
I am importing bmp images into a jet database

The embedded picture appears as a chunky square thumbnail with the filename in large font underneath. The size of the thumbnail and font seems to adjust automatically to fit the filename in the width of the Frame. That is, a short filename = large thumbnail and font; long filename = tiny thumbnail and smaller font.

My Widnows File Association is set to Paint for BMP. Also "Paint.Picture" is the value for Class property.

Using the Caz Maze software version 7.108 to do the import.

It seems to be some other (windows?) conflict on the machine which is running XP.

You may have the Display as Icon Check Box selected, if so deselect it and see what happens.

If you're actually storing the bitmaps inside your database, take a look at a product called DBPix. It handles most of the issues you're encountering and gives you a way to store the bitmaps with almost no database bloating.
