How to overcome the size limitation of MSAccess

i'm new to database and i heard that MSAccess has maximum storage of 2GB approximately.... what if i started in MSAccess and if the amount exceeds 2GB and still i want to continue my work in that... is there any possibility of doing that ? thanx.....

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot exceed the built-in design limitations of Access. If you demand is such, it is time to move up to one of the Big Boys such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc. Please do not double, in your case triple, post. Someone will get to your question within a reasonable time frame. Previous Posts have been deleted.

The first thing you need to understand is that the 2 GB limit allows for a HUGE number of records. The second thing is that if, down the road, you do find you need more "space" you can migrate to something like SQL Server or MySQL and continue to use the Access frontend (forms, etc) that you already have! There is even a built in Wizard for upsizing to SQL Server! Another method of "beating the limit" that I've seen mentioned from time to time is to place your tables in a one or more databases, then linking to these tables. But as I've said, 2 GB allows for a lot of records.

In Access Help simply enter the word "upsize" and explore the related links generated.

BTW, it's really good to see someone doing advance planning like this, rather than simply jumping in feet first and hoping things will work out later!

And please don't post the same question/problem more than once!

Good luck !

create another ms access file and place the other tables there. Then
on the main access file that you're working on, click File -> get external data -> Link tables. Find those other access file where you saved the other tables.
