Make list of deleted records

Throughout the year, I delete records which is a very common occurance in any
database. However, from time to time, it would be nice to print off a list
of the records that were deleted. Is it possible that when a record is
deleted, the person's name would automatically be added to a table?

When you delete a record in access it is gone - with the right tools
and knowhow you may be able to recover data, if the database has not
been compacted since the delete, but that's about it.
access has no native change audit capabilities and no trigger
functionality on tables, so if you need auditing in your application
then you have to carefully manage your interface to capture events and
report them to logging tables. jeff's idea with the date field is
probably the easiest to implement, and might suit you needs - but for
more heavy duty logging you may need a different approach.

For example I have a system that uses a combination of a change
history table and a historic values table alongside each main data
table to track edits to data. the change history records whether it
was an insert, update or archive action - who did it - date / time -
machine etc, and an associated copy of the record after the changes is
put in the historic values table.

This is quite heavy duty though. You could opt for a hybrid solution -
replace the delete function with one that copies the record to a
history table along with the date and then deletes the original. that
will remove the need to filter out old data from your table in all the
reports and queries
