Access automated date calc

1
Setting up a form in Access 2003 where I'm trying to automatically calculate an RSVP date which is 6 days prior to an actual date (ie: November 10th minus 6 days should give me an answer of November 4th)

Any ideas on the formula I enter?

Hi Dianne. I'll move this to the Access Forum where you'll get more relevant exposure.

Thanks for joining.

Access makes handling dates like this easy! Assuming that both controls are defined as dates in their table definitions

RSVPDate = EventDate - 6

will do the job! I'd place it here:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub EventDate_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
  2.   RSVPDate = EventDate - 6
  3. End Sub
  4.
Good Luck!
