I would like a txt box to auto populate based on the selection of a combo box

I think this is a me thing. but can't remember how to do it.

I have a form that I am using and would like for a txt box to automatically populate based on what is selected in a combo box.

here is what I have for form fields:

Carton # <auto number>
Item Title <txt>
Item Accquisition Date <txt (date)>
Is item consigned <yes/no>
Name of Consignor <combo box (fed by table"tblConsignor Accounts" w/2 fields "Consignor Name" & "Consignor Acct#")>
Consignor Acct # <txt (I want to auto fill based on the selection of above combo box)

This is just an input form - and I want to simplify it. I originally had the consignor acct# as a combo box - but when I am doing mass listings on ebay - this gets tiresome.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

In the after update event of your combo
J
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. me.[Consignor Acct#]=me.[Name Of Consignor].column(1)

What if you want this info in the Text Box to save in your table as well? What coding would you use?

No coding necessary. Just make the control source of your textbox the underlying field the form's recordset.

I added my own post when I realized I may not ask questions on someone elses post. Could you please view my post and could you please give me exapmles of what you mean on the control source? I am self taught by using examles of the internet and books. I learn more by visual examples if at all possible.

Thank you
