"KeyedAccess" From Peter's Software

I have developed an application for a client that they wish to sell on
a yearly licence basis. After searching through many posts on this
forum I know that any security can be thwarted and that locks only
keep the honest people out however:

I've been reading about "KeyedAccess" From Peter's Software and I have
downloaded the trial. Is this the only product of its type that will
allow a "shareware" version to be distributed and also supports yearly
registration, or are there others out there?

The other question of course is has anyone used it and does it provide
some level of security to prevent casual copying?

There are other methods of doing this, although Peter's solution should work well enough. I'm not entirely sure if
either of these would allow yearly registrations, but all provide evaluation modes, which you could use to do more or
less what you want (i.e. when the user buys a license, issue a key that turns the software into a year-long evaluation
version, and turn off nag screens, etc ...)

Here's a couple that work with VBA:
