Cognos Add-in in Excel instance

I've figured it out with the suggestion from a colleague:

Set objXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application") or Set objXL =
GetObject(, "Excel.Application")
creates an instance of Excel without the Cognos Add-in

I added the following 3 lines to add the Cognos Add-in:

objXL.AddIns("Analyst").Installed = False
objXL.AddIns.Add FileName:=GetAppSetting("DefaultCognosAddinFolder" )
& GetAppSetting("DefaultCognosAddinFile")
objXL.AddIns("Analyst").Installed = True

where

GetAppSetting("DefaultCognosAddinFolder") and
GetAppSetting("DefaultCognosAddinFile")
are custom functions that retrieve values from a local lookup table I
use to store default values.
