converted data to sql. now in one table access wont let me edit records after they are inserted but i can edit old records

access xp, sql server 2000.

Just converted entire database to sql and keeping access front end.
Problem is only with one table.

inserting a new record works fine. If I go back to that record to
enter in more data I get a write conflict error. If I try to delete
the record I get a jet database engine stopped because me and someone
else is attempting to change the data. No one else is in the database.

If I go and edit old data it works fine.
If i go into enterprise manager, i can run a qeuery and edit the new
records but access won't let me. I have run the linked table manager.

I normally see these errors when there is corrupted data but its brand
new, there is no corruption.

The only field that cannot be null is my primary key.

I am lost.
