How to Group Records in a Form

14
Hi,

I'd like to know if there is anyway I can group records in a datasheet view ms access form. For example, i would like to view all records grouped by their product type after i finish entering all details and clicking refresh.

Any type of help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Records in a form are generally sorted, not grouped. Is that what you mean?

have a separate table that contains the different product type choices.
Then from the original table, have that product type field look up
to the separate table. It would change to a drop down box
where you can select the product type from the list instead of typing
them over and over.

AFter that, creat a form using fomr wizard adding All the fields from
the original table and all the fields from the product type table.
Access automatically creates subforms. when asked for the format
you would like for the subform, choose datasheet.

By doing that, you would have the product type as the main form,
and there would be a subform that lists all the records that has
that product type.

Thanks a lot for your replies. But I guess i was not clear in my explanations. I want to group (to have a plus sign next to a product category) records belonging to the same product.

Thanks,

That's the same steps I have provided you. As soon
as you've done them, go to design view of the form
and Go to the Format Tab.
On the default view propert, select data sheet.
