Checkbox controlling a Textbox visibility

I have checkbox's: shop, customer, field, and vendor. When the boxes aren't checked (=false) I would like all the text boxes underneath each check box to be invisible. The textboxes are labeled date issued, rev issued, # of copies and issued by. Ex: Shop checkbox is checked(True) i want the text fields to become visible. I tried putting code in the checkbox's after update event field, but I can't get it to work. Can you please help me with the code. I have only taken basic programming language courses, but would like to learn more! Any help is appreciated.

In the AfterUpdate event procedure have some code SIMILAR to this :
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub chkBox_AfterUpdate()
  2.   txtBox1.Visible = chkBox
  3. End Sub
This relies on a 2-way CheckBox. .Visible doesn't want a Null value.
