I tried this code

Private Sub Ship_To_AfterUpdate()
' Update Customername controls based on value selected in Ship_To box.
Me!Customername = Me![Ship_To].Column(5)


End Sub

to take the information from the Ship_To field and populate the Customername field... but it tells me that the object doesn't support this propety or object...

Any thoughts

Try changing this: Me!Customername = Me![Ship_To].Column(5)
......................to: Me!Customername.Value = Me![Ship_To].Column(5)

Also verify that column(5) is the correct column reference because column reference indexes start with zero for the first column on the left. Therefore if you intended to reference the fifth column from the left, you should have referenced column (4), not column(5).
