Parameter Help

I've seen this question asked a few times in different forums but there hasn't been a clear answer. Is it possible to turn off a parameter in a query in an if statement for example.

I have a form in excel that is sending the parameters to Access, and when "ALL" is passed, I would like to stop the filtering there and show it filtered up until that point. I have 4 combo boxes and it filters fine through all 4, but I want it to be able to stop and filter at any point. Is there a disable function available? I've tried using the wildcard values, but that merely shows all the entries. Any suggestions?

Hi Daisy

If you want to change the criteria on a query based on selections in the form then you will have to build the query in code. This is the only way that you can vary the query definition.

If you would like to try to tackle it using VBA then I will need the sql of the query you are currently using and detailed information on where and based on what the query would change.
