Pass-Through Query permissions

I think that I may have a problem with pass through query permissions but I am not for sure. The database is a general database that has no specific security requirements and is placed on a network drive that is only accessible by the persons that will be utilizing it. However, I recently built a query for vendor numbers and vendor names to a SQL based db. Everything works great on the query as long as I am the one signed ion using it. However, if someone else is signed in using it. i.e. the people actually needing the info I get the ODBC connection error not valid for user ******. ******=specific user signed in. Where do i need to begin looking for the possible cause.

Look at the odbc connection being used. Is it stored as a DSN and does it have any required username and password stored with it.

It might be an idea to recreate the connection.

Narrowed it down to certain users. Got with Network Admin and found out that these users were not in the proper user group. They changed that and then everything worked perfectly. Being so new to pass-through queries I thought it had something to do with the ODBC or SQL drivers but thankfully it wasn't.

Sounds good.

Glad you got it sorted.
