2
Access crashes with a GPF (send msg to Microsoft message...) after I do a Access File Backup or Repair. Any idea why?

More than likely your database is corrupted. the simple short answer to fix this is create a new database, then in your table view righ click and import the tables from the old database. This should fix it. You can also import all the forms queries and modules from the old database

good luckc

It also happens immediately after I do a Repair/Compact, as well as the Backup. If it's "corrupted", shouldn't Repair fix it? If not, what good is Repair?
Thanks

Create a blank db and import all tables, queries, forms, modules etc from the old db to new one. And let the old one RIP.
By te way, disk format does cure everything :))

With anything microsoft the extent of their repair utilities all depend how bad the application has been damaged. In your case it looks grimmly bad. take my advice, you will feel better after words.

Good luck

General Protection Fault error (GPF) comes in case of incorrect BIOS setting, mismatched random access memory (RAM) or cache. Are you getting some fatal error also? If yes then due to ram your access file crashes. If you want to repair access file you can use compact and repair utility or make a new database and import table, forms and module from old table. In worst case you are not able to recover your file by compact and repair utility then you can use some recovery software like Stellar phoenix Access Repair Software. You can download it from here: Access Repair

Good Luck
