Table

I want to convert numbers to text within a table, how can I do
this.... I have tried an update query but it didnt come up with
anything...

1 = Inactive
2 = Due
3 = Received
4 = Problems
5 = Cleared

Please help - can do it in a form but not on the table.

Did you change the data type in the table definition?

Did you change the data type in the table definition?
After you have done that you realize that what is in the field is no
longer trhe number 1 but the text "1" thus your update query has to
update "1" to "Inactive" and specifically NOT update 1 to "Inactive".
