Extra Advanced Reports - Art of the Booklet

I have been searching through references trying to find methods for developing reports. Many of the "advanced" reports talk about GROUPING and ORDERING.

What about special printing requirements? I have such a need. I am trying to print a report in a booklet style. This booklet is produced as many as three to five times a week, and is 3x5 inches when folded.

I have been unable to recreate this as report and was wondering if anyone has ideas?

I have tried importing data into MS Publisher, but the interface in 2003 is difficult to work with. And the organic report generator is not as flexible when considering reports that do not meet single page documents.

Ideas?

Thanks, M

My first thought would be to export it to a PDF and format it there. Of course you would need PDF editing software. MS Publisher is a toy!

Good luck.

Here is something that might be worth looking into if you are interested---the link below is for an affordable Access addin (you can buy source code) that enables you to generate an Access report directly to HTML format and can manipulate design on a platform that you would have much better graphical capabilites that can be used to enhance the report/booklet.

Whether it is what it purports to be is something that you will have to find out....and you can download a "lite" version of the program at no cost.

What makes this different than the HTML report that you can output using the DoCmd.OutputTo Report ........HTML format is something that you should find out by experimenting or by asking the vendor directly....that is......if you are interested.

Thanks all! I will look into the references that you have given. I am luck enough to have Adobe Pro, so I will play with that. The key is figuring out how to export the data so that the customer just has to press the button and it will show up in the printer! But I have a place to go now. Thanks again
