Form with combo and calculation

P: 16
Hi, I'm new to Access and want to write a small programme for the administration of a family confection business. For that I want to use a form in which I can easily access the order information for each of our clients. On that form it should be possible to choose clients' names from a Combo Box as well as introduce new names to the list. Also, I would want a little calculation added to the form which adds up the costs for the different services we provide. This calculation should appear right after the fields are filled in.
What have I done so far?
1. I made two tables: tblClients and tblOrders
2. I made a relationship of one to many with Client_Id
3. I tried to make a form with a Combo Box with Row Source tblClients. I used the NotinList option to add new names.

However, how can I link FirstName and LastName from my table tblClients? When I choose to enter a new name on the list, how can I also introduce his telephone number so that next time that I click on his name in the Combo Box the telephone number automatically appears on the form?

Do I have to make a query or can I make the form based directly on those tables?

Like you see, I need somebody with patience who is able to explain this to me step by step so I can work it out at home. I don't have experience with Code writing although I understand the logic behind it.

Thanks a lot in advance.

When your list is based on a table it is not advisable to use the not in list to add new values. You will need to add a command button to open a form to add new clients and requery the list.
