I have a form with several text boxes on it. Why is it that Access will not allow me to change the control source from a filed in one table to a field in another table?

because there's no relationship. you want to bring in a foreign field? then create a query with both tables, bring your field in. You can establish the relationship in your query.

Access also provides you combo boxes, and listboxes, that can display values from other tables, and put them in fields within your first table....if that's what you're after.
