Hyperlink Question

I have a personnel database with a hyperlink field which contains the path
to a mugshot. I was thinking of combining the hyperlink field with the
surname field by putting the surname in the "Display Text" of the hyperlink.
I have 200 or so existing records - can this be done either with code or in
a query? I'm not sure of the syntax to use to reference the "Display Text"
property (if it can be done at all).

Many thanks.

Keith.

Im not sure what the "display text" that you are talking about is, but
you can use the oncurrent event of the form to change the StausBar
Text and ControlTip Text properties for your text box that contains
the hyperlink field

Display Text is a property of a hyperlink and IIRC it's delimeted by hash
(#) characters. If you right-click a hyperlink (using standard shortcut
menus) it's one of the options and is what is displayed in the control
instead of the target path.

Keith.
