MSysACEs conversion error

In converting from Office 97 to Office 2007 I get the following error message in a conversion error table.

-3831: The current file format no longer supports user-level security. The conversion or compaction process has removed any user-level permissions.

Is this going to be a problem?

Operating system XP Professional.

Thanks,

Jim Roddy

To be honest I don't know. I haven't played around much with 2007. What user level security have you set up on the database. It may be just a case of creating a new mdw file.

I allow all trusted locations and password protect sensitive databases.

As I said you may have to recreate the security for your databases.

I think you are correct. As best I can tell Office 2007 has recreated the security by default that is close to what I had before.

For what it is worth I also found out that Office 2007 removes the ability to spell check in English in Outlook Express.

Thanks,
