Import records problem in Access 2003

Hi,

I have created a new database based on the specifications given by my company.

but the problem i have is, i need to transfer all the records from previous database into the new one where the table structures are totally different.

for example, in old database, they have one table (i think they just created this database to store the data and havnt dont any operation based on that.)

Cutomer_Data has following fields:
1. First Name, Last Name, Address details

2. Job Description, Account number, Date Enacted.

In my new database, i have two different tables Client and Job with one-to-many relationship.

Number 1 fields in Customer_Data must be imported to Client Table

Number 2 fields in Customer_Data must be imported to Job Table

i dunno how to do this...

can anyone help me in this regard..

thanks,

Kathy

Import it into a temp table and then use an append query to append the correct fields into the table. Just remember you still need to define a primary key field and a foreign key field to link the two tables together.
