Data from Pivot table in Excel to Access

I have 3rd party research data which is in excel pivot table form. I want to import the underlying Pivot data into Access for further analysis. A simple import in Access does not work.

Tried using Recordset property in Pivot cache. No result. Any other solution you can suggest?

Try the following:
  1. Define the cells making up the Pivot Table as a Range in Excel.
  2. In Access, File ==> Get External Data ==> Import.
  3. Files of type ==> Microsoft Excel (*.xls).
  4. Select the Excel File ==> Import.
  5. Show Named Ranges ==> Select Range ==> Import ==> Next.
  6. First Row Contains Column Headings.
  7. Next ==> In a New Table ==> Next ==> define Field Options.
  8. No Primary Key ==> Next ==> Finish.
  9. Your Pivot Table data should now be in an Access Table. It will, however require some minor modifications.
  10. Good Luck.
