how to sort after adding to combo box?

I have a combo box with a NotInList event on it that allows me to add a value through another form. When I return to the form that contains the combo box the value I added is at the bottom. How can I get the combo box to sort the values alphabetically so that the value is where it should be for the next record?

The control source is just a field, not a query, so there is no "sort by" option that I can find in the Properties.

thanks for any help!

Why not change it to a query then? Or SQL string even.

It's a really LONG story but I was basically getting help on another problem and was told that it was better to have the control source just be the field in the table and not some crazy SQL select statement that Access creates for you when you use the wizard to create a form (and transform a textbox into a combo box).

I use SQL statements all the time for combo boxes, especially if I want to sort or filter out certain records for the combo box.

Okay then I guess this one time won't hurt. :)
