Hep with a delete Query.

121 100+
I have two Tables - [ERR_REC] and [STG_INPT] the both have fields [REC_ID]

I want to find records in ERR_REC that match ones in STG_INPT and delete those records from ERR_REC

I have used the following query:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. DELETE ERR_REC.*, STG_INPT.REC_ID
  2. FROM ERR_REC LEFT JOIN STG_INPT ON ERR_REC.REC_ID = STG_INPT.REC_ID
  3. WHERE (((STG_INPT.REC_ID) Is Not Null));
But when I run it I get a "Could not delete from specified files"

I'm not sure why.

Can anyone help here?

Returning the REC_ID from the STG_INPT table was causing the problem. This should work ...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. DELETE ERR_REC.*
  2. FROM ERR_REC LEFT JOIN STG_INPT
  3. ON ERR_REC.REC_ID = STG_INPT.REC_ID
  4. WHERE (((STG_INPT.REC_ID) Is Not Null));
