Calculate list of time values totaling over 24 hours

I have a list of CPU processing times and job durations for an entire department at work. There are 3 classifications I am maintaining. CPU time during peak hours , CPU time during non peak hours and total CPU time. I developed an Excel spreadsheet totaling the times and manually format a spreadsheet to present total jobs run and total CPU time for the department. I also developed an Access 2002 db, where I import all the run job information. I developed all the monthly reports totaling hours for each individuaI. I also developed a summary table where I keep the values for each month in a summary table and produce a report showing each months usage and calculate totals for the entire year. Basically duplicating what I did in Excel. There are 300 people in the department so it's not uncommon for the total hours to go way over 24 hours. The Excel spreadsheet takes a lot of time to develope each month. I was thinking we can accomplish the same thing quicker in Access. The addition of the times is accurate on the spreadsheet but I am having trouble getting the Acces db to produce the same results.

The time I have in Excel is 25:52:38 however the time in Access is off by 24 hours, showing 1:52:38.

To further explain I have the time totals of 18:18:17 and 7:34:21 that I am trying to add together. The correct answer is 25:52:38 however Access gives me 1:52:53.

It's because of the way Date/Time variables are stored. It's not off by 24 hours, it's just incremented a day, which you don't see because you are only viewing the Time part.

You'll have to use the DateDiff() function to rebuild the time into the format you want.
