conditional lay-out for empty field

pdm
hi access,

In the design of an access form you can set a conditional lay-out.
Easy when you have a number and it should be < or then a certain
value.
However, I look for an expression or definition to say :"If there is
nothing in this field, please set this lay-out" (for example a
different background color). How to I have to tell this ? I tried
"null".

thanks, pat.

I'd try IsNull (fieldname).
