why do i get a key conflict when I add a record to a linked table?

Hi,

if I add a record to a table in my database, everything goes well.
When I then place the table in another database and link to it from my
database I suddenly get a key conflict when I add a record.
Nothing else changed.
How to solve?

thanks for any help

must have been a glitch of Access....
and it took me quite some days to find out.

The autonumbering field must have caused the key conflict
I finally solved it by removing the field from the table,
compress the database
and add the same autonumbering field.
Bizarre.

As if it confused what I did with synchronization of a replicated database.
