Expression Buliding Problem

3
Hi everyone

I have a small query about using the expression bulider on MS Access.

I have a table detailing start and end dates for student exams, some of which have durations of more than one day, I also have a field called status.

The expression that I want to write is;

IF [StartDate] <= (todays_date) then [Status] = "Active"
IF [EndDate] >=(todays_date) then [Status] = "Finished"

however the problem I'm having is how to write the correct syntax for displaying 'todays_date'

is there an expression that automatically compares the [startdate] and [enddate] with the system date?

any help will be much appriecated

thank you

You'll want to use the function iif:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. iif(expression, value if true, value if false)
You can also embed iif within an iif.
