If Then Query

2
I have a table with three fields - DCode, RCode and Asset. The DCode and Rcode are mutually exclusive so I combine the two in a query and call the expression field "Code". Now I only have two fields in my query - Code and Asset.

Now what I need to do is the following If/then, but I am having trouble getting it to work. Here is what I want to do in regular language:

If [code] is null and [Asset] = BL, then [code] = InInc

It seems like a simple if/then statement would work well but all I can come up with is iif functions which are more than I need in this case. I am having a hard time getting the query to work with either function.

In a query you'll have to use iif unless you write your own function.
I assume [code] = [code] if [code] isn't no so that'd be your return value for the false parameter of the iif.

Without the full SQL of the query I'm just guessing at the context, but something like :
[code][code]=IIf([code] Is Null AND [Asset] = 'BL', [InInc],
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. )
