Using Access Form By Few Users At The Same Time

Hello all!

I have a question for you all. I have to create a database, which has to have possibility that few users in the local network are using it at the same time.

ID of new record should change in the moment when new user opens the form.

What is your solution about this problem?

Best regard,
BJ

Hi BJ

1. In Tools - Options under the Advanced tab make sure the Default record locking is set to Edited Record.

2. Make the ID an Autonumber field.

Thank you for advice,

I set the options like you mentioned.

Now it works like this, if one user uses the form and at the same time another user starts to use the same form, ID number (I did set it as Autonumber) doesn't raise.

Have you tried saving both records?

Yes, I tried. It doesn't help.

The problem is I use this ID as number of measurment in Diary of measurments, so it must be unique!

If your autonumber is a primary key in the table then it should be unique. I don't understand what's happening.
