Copy and Paste from Excel problem

I hope someone can help - I am new to Access so please be patient.

I have a list of about 100 equity tickers in a column in Excel
formatted as Text. I am trying to copy and paste into a field in a
table in Access with Text data type. For some reason Access only
wants to paster the first 3 records.

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks in Advance

Andrew.

What error message are you getting? Looks like there is somethign
wrong with the 4th record. Normally its either an invalid data type
or a duplicate in a uniqur index field.

I'm not getting any error message. It just pastes the first three
records. Most odd.

Have you tried using Import?

I recently completed a project that involved importing lots of numeric
strings from Excel.

I would often find that though the Excel Column was formatted as text the
actual data was mixed. When I imported that to access, the import would
stop as soon as it hit the first
cell that had the item recorded as a number rather than a numeric string.

Look at your excel sheets and see if each cell with a numeric string has the
little blue triangle in the upper left corner. If not it is not a string
and access will stop when it encounters it.

I ended up writing a routine to fix all those before importing - If you need
it let me know.
