Slow application if more than one user

P: n/a
I'm developing a new multiuser application. Standard arrangement -
front end on each XP/Off2003 workstation and back end on a W2003
server. I've noticed the following - when the application opens a
splash screen appears, then in most cases users would go to a
'Clients' screen which runs a query on the client table and displays
the results in a list box control. No problem with that - nice and
fast IF you're the first user to open the application.

BUT, if a second user does the same while the first user is still
looking at the Client screen then it takes a significant time for the
client screen to open.

Can anyone help me to understand what is going on here - I would love
to know

Thanks
Dave
