Jo***@DomainName.org, but I'll let it slide

at spamming.
jo***@basn.org was sufficiently experienced to munge his real address and
post using throwaway freebie addresses at gmail and at google groups so he
would, presumably, not suffer if someone complained and he lost those
accounts for violating their Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
Perhaps you could cut him some slack for being naive enough to think that
someone complaining would also reconstruct his munged address and complain
to abuse@ that address, as well.
jo***@basn.org knew he was doing something he shouldn't, or he wouldn't have
taken such precautions.
Oh, a complaint to linkedin.com wouldn't be out of order, either. They don't
want the reputation of signing up spammers, I am sure.
Experienced spammers don't post to each totally
unrelated newsgroup individually using Google
Groups because it takes so much time.
Although I cut you some slack, I can't guarantee
that others won't plaster your E-mail address all
over the newsgroups so that you get a taste of your
own medicine.
I used to cut presumed-innocent spammers some slack by gently admonishing
them here and directing their attention to the FAQ at
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm but I caught so much flak from
them and others that I now just follow the USENET rules and complain
directly to their ISP and newsserver.
So
jo***@basn.org can just blame the ones who objected so strongly about
gentle admonishment for his not getting gentle admonishment.
