Question on the location of .mdw file.

72
If the access database I created is going to reside on a server, not on the laptop I used to create it, the .mdw file has to reside on the server also? I.e. wait to create workgroups, etc until I move the file to the server?

Regards,

Good morning everyone,

Am I on the right track? Does it matter?

The .mdw can reside where ever you can access it. But every copy of Access needs to join that workgroup.
