I think this is the "Object invalid or no longer set" error. The next time it happens click Debug and tell us which line of code it stops at. Post the relevant code above and below the error also. I wouldn't ignore it as at a guess something that should be happening is not happening.

Object is invalid or no longer set. (Error 3420)

You are attempting to reference an object that is no longer valid or has not been set.
Possible causes:
• The object has been closed.
• The object has been orphaned (the parent object has been closed or deleted).
• The object is out of scope.
• The object library is not registered in the Microsoft® Windows® Registry
.
• You are trying to reference a method or property of the collection, but you have not assigned it to a variable first. For example, to reference the Name property, use the following:
Dim dbsPublish As Database
Set dbsPublish = OpenDatabase("BIBLIO.mdb")
dbname = dbsPublish.Name

For a start, can you tell us exactly what it says on the dialogue box that pops up? And what buttons it has?

For example, does it actually just say "Click OK"? That would be unusual.

The dialogue box that pops up it said:
Microsoft office Access
3420

And the buttons it has is
[OK]

When I press the [OK] button
the dialogue box disappear
and take me to the record I want.

It sounds like the MS Access file you are working in has and extension of mde.

MyDatabase.mde

Is this the case? If it is you need to try and find the original database that was used to create the MDE. Such as:

MyDatabase.mdb

Let us know if this is the case...
