Merging an Access database with Publisher

P: 1
I have created a catalog in Publisher 2K, and used the mail merge to access the fields in my existing access 2000 database. The merge works, but only accesses one record at a time. It will print the entire catalog with the same entry in every position, and then print another catalog for each database entry. Under Word 2k there is a <<nextrecord>> command, but it doesn't appear to function under Publisher. The Microsoft website has led me to believe that the required functionality was added for Publisher 2003, but doens't exist in Pub2k. I am wondering if there are any scripts or workaround that might exist, perhaps a query that might allow me to salvage my catalog, or do I need to rebuild my catalog in another application? I have also been told that there are VB scripts for this purpose. I considered building the catalog in Access 2k, but it doesn't appear ot be able to handle layout as well as I would need it to. Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks
Chris

Hi. It is certainly possible to automate publisher in vb or vba. Quite a learning curve though. Scripting publisher will also be a steep learning curve and you can find examples here
