run time error 3343 unrecognized database format

I have a VB 6.0 application using Access as backend. It is being used
on a local area network. The backend database is password protected.

The problem is that the database gives me a run time error 3343
unrecognized database format. I open it in Access and repair it, which
fixes the problem. After running it for a few minutes (or sometimes a
few hours), I get the same error again, and I have to compress the
database again.

It's pretty frustrating. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Just a thought, but when I get a corrupting Db, I create a new blank Db and
import all the objects from the dodgy db into it. Often there is one which
will not import which is "duff". You then have to create the duff object
from scratch (or import it from a reliable back up
