An mde file cannot be changed. A backup mdb file should always be kept so that a new replacement mde file can be created when changes are made.

Dear Mary,

Thanks for info.

I assigned in a project customisation. there is 2 mde and some mdb files. there is no backup files as mdb. There are only tables there in mdb file. No forms and nothing. Shall i confidently ask my management there is no native code and ask them to arrange buy from the place that developed(Italy)

If they bought the application you can confidently tell them that they were given an mde so that they wouldn't be able to change the application without going back to the person they bought it from. This is deliberate on the part of the seller so that you can't change their application.

Hi samy

The first step in creating any application is getting the table structures correct.

Have a look at this tutorial ...

Normalisation and Table structures

Once you have your table structures designed have a look at this tutorial on designing queries

Basic SQL Syntax for Access Queries

Forms and reports are based on tables and queries so it's very important to get them right and to understand them well. We're here if you have any questions and once you get comfortable with this we can progress further.

If you are (as it sounds) the only person in your organisation working in Access, then you should go on a proper 1 week course before taking on the role from scratch.
The idea that Access is a user-tool is (I'm afraid) a myth.

We do have some (Tutorials on Access and VBA), but they're mainly for reference rather than tutelage.
Here are some other (external) links that may help (Links to useful sites).
