System hangs when Conditional Formatting of a control uses other, calculated control

176 100+
In a continous form, I need txbControl1 to be conditioned according to txbControl2.

txbControl1 control source is:
=DSum("Amount","Loans","Id=Forms!Cities!Customers. Form!Id")

txbControl2 control source is [Field2] of the subform's record source table

So the condtional formatting of txbControl2 would be:
txbControl1.value = 1000

While this conditional formatting works if used on txbControl1, it causes a system hang if used on txbControl2.

Do any of experts or users know what is the reason for this, and is there a way around it?

Thanks.

Sorry Michael, you lost me.

What are you trying to do here?

txbControl1.value = 1000
You are actually telling it to put 1000 as a value into the control txbControl1 which contradicts it's control source value.

I'm using an equivalence veryfication of the other control's value with a number value as a conditional formatting for the current control.

To be percise, I need the conditional formatting on txbControl1 control to be activated whenever the txbControl2 control's value equals 1000.

so, the conditional formatting of txbControl2 that I use is
Condition 1: Expression Is: txbControl1.value = 1000

While it works when txbControl1 is a table field control, it hangs the system when it's a calculated control.

err, I'm sorry, I've made a logic mistake.

here's the corrected version:

To be percise, I need the conditional formatting on txbControl1 control to be activated whenever the txbControl2 control's value equals 1000.

so, the conditional formatting of txbControl1 that I use is
Condition 1: Expression Is: txbControl2.value = 1000

While it works when txbControl2 is a table field control, it hangs the system when it's a calculated control.

Replace the 'Conditional formatting' with code.

Example:

In the Forms On Current event put something like ...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub Form_OnCurrent()
  2.
  3.    If Me.txbControl2 = 1000 Then
  4.       Me.txbControl1.Visible = True ' Not sure what conditon you want
  5.    Else
  6.       Me.txbControl1.Visible = False
  7.    End If
  8.
  9. End Sub
  10.
