Query Leaves out Records

1
I have a form which has an expanded subform built into it from a database that was at my company before I arrived.

We run a query to check all open reports but recently found out that if the subform is blank then it skips the record in the query. I tried putting in a default value but that did not work. If you enter something on the line of the subform or even just do a space the query will not skip the record. When you enter in the line the subfom expands one line as it is for multiple entries of part#s and descriptions. Even if you delete what you typed once the subform has expanded it stays expanded and is not skipped in the query.

I would like a way to have it always show up in the query without forcing and entry in the subform.

I suspect this is something to do with your form(s) having a recordsource of a query with an INNER JOIN rather than a LEFT JOIN.
Unfortunately, as we know so little detail of your situation I can't help further at this stage.

Post the queries behind the main form and the subform. See if the subform is joined to the main form using master/child relationship or if the subform is based on a filter? All these factors are important in judging what is going on.
